Intel revealed the fastest desktop processor to make an extreme edition CPU called Core i7990X. This CUP will definitely help the computer enthusiasts and gamers establish great records in diverse standards as it runs at the frequency of 3.33 GHz. Clock speed is 3.46 GHz of this extreme edition and the mode Turbo Boost is capable to accelerate to 3.6 GHz. The CPU is based on Gulftown 6-core, 32 nm design that is of course 130MHz faster in speed than the Core i7-980 CPU.

Intel said, “With the help of Turbo Core i7 990X will overclock to 3.73GHz and the CPU still has six cores, twelve hypertreaded cores as well as QPI at 6.4GT/s. The CPU is unlocked and it will allow some further overclocking and it still doesn’t have any integrated graphics core.”

Intel Core i7-990X is going to be exhibited in the coming September. Intel is also preparing its new flagship family of chips for desktop computers. As far as in my opinion, core i7-990X has no major difference with Core i7-980X in structure, but it is just slightly faster in speed as an extreme edition part. Price can be around $999.
